It was quite a surprise when we came across a flyer during the Techno Classica announcing Classic Days for this year.
You surely remember the event, which had been held annually at Schloss Dyck since 2006 and attracted up to 40,000 visitors and 6,000 classic and sports cars – the little German Goodwood.
In 2019, it was over. The pandemic struck. Failed negotiations between the organizer and the castle owners led to Classic Days being held in the Düsseldorf exhibition center parking lot. Even before that, the event was often difficult. The parking situation was unsatisfactory until 2019, and parts of the concours, especially with the interesting vehicles, were relocated, with no public or press access.
All in all, we'd written off the event after 2022 and were therefore all the more surprised to find it back this year in what appears to be a fitting setting. The downside is that it's competing with Germany's largest historic racing event, the Oldtimer Grand Prix, on the same weekend.
Well, let's try both: The Classic Days will take place from August 1st to 3rd at the Rittergut Birkhof in Korschenbroich. All information and tickets are available here: https://www.classic-days.de/
We're extremely excited!
