With the current market condition, every auction is an indication of the market's situation. The summary is simple: compared to the best prices two or three years ago, it looks like the price level stabilises 30 % lower in general and it is easy to follow that many lots are sold at the lower estimate or slightly below. RM Sotheby's tremendous Duemila Ruote-auction of late last year looks like a statistical outlier today.

Paris will be the next real test for Ferraris at auctions.
