upcoming Essen Motor Show is the first event to honour Ferrari's 70th anniversary
When we remember the Factory's big 60 Anni celebrations we are a bit confused about the preparing of the 70th Anniversary in 2017. Montezemolo's crew made the 60 Anni a worldwide one year event and nearly every event or show joined in. We remember well that our frineds from the Dutch Ferrari Club had the closing of the activities when the had their huge special 60 Anni display during Maastricht's Interclassics Topmobiel in January of 2008. However, they will be earlier this year with having their celebration of Ferrari's anniversary in early January 2017.

Others do not want to stand back. Essen Motor Show, not really well known for monothematic displays, will be the first event to pick up the 70th anniversary with a display during their 2016 edition that will be held from this Friday until December, 4th at the Essen fair. Thursday, the 25th, will be reserved for the preview day.

Our friend, Matthias Kierse of carsdaily.de took the chance to visit the press conference for Essen Motor Show earlier this month and provided us with the pictures for today's Slide Show of 0240AL, the 342 America Pinin Farina Coupe belonging to Hermann Layher, the owner of the Auto & Technik Museum of Sinsheim.

For the Essen Motor Show "the first Hybrid" is announced for display what would in our opinion be the 599 HYKERS, but will obviously be a LaFerrari beside some other Ferraris.

Brings us back to the anniversary-preparation of the Factory and still leaves us a bit surprised: except the special 70-Anni-models -some of them being on display in Paris last month and already being subject of one of our Slide Shows- and a special 70 Anni-badge mounted on the side of the cars, there is... nothing
