The F430, being the successor of the Modena, the first volume car of the Factory, was launched at the 2004 Paris Motor Show (#139117 (Giallo Modena) , #139119 (Rosso Corsa) and #139120 )Argento Nürburgring)) and became the basis for the F430 Challenge. This car, #143810, was presented at 2005’s IAA in Frankfurt on Sept. 15th. Watch the launch’s Slide Show in the “Event Report”-section. The car was later displayed at the official launch of the 248 F1 in Maranello on Jan. 24th, 2006. The F430 Challenge was offered at a MSRP of €208,220. Most parts of the body have been adopted from the street car as well as the engine. The chassis was strengthens compared to the street legal car and a modified exhaust system was added. The E-Diff from the F430 was exchanged with a mechanical differential. Whilst the F430 had Carbon Ceramic Brakes as an option, the Challenge car was fitted with it. In addition the F430 Challenge received a special shifting-software. The car had a weight of 1,225 kgs.
The complete 2005 was still completed with the 360 Modena and the 2006 Challenge series saw both cars competing against each other, but the classification was separated by the 360 and F430. The F430 Challenge is as well as the 360 Challenge a non-street legal car.
The successful appearance of the 360 N-GT was continued on the F430 as well and it was once again Michelotto who designed a car complying with FIA’s GT2 regulation. The test drives took place in October of 2005 and the car was ready for the 2006 season. A F430 GT2 had an impressive MSRP of € 420,000. #2402 is the first Serial Number used for a F430 GT2. The evolution was called F430 GTC and entered in the 2007 season. The last known F430 GT2 is #2656. FIA organized a GT-series as well and some Challenge cars have been modified to GT3 specifications. In 2009 an additional GT3 car was provided, homologated on the F430 Scuderia. Official Swiss dealership Kessel provided kits to transfer a F430 Challenge (54 units produced) and an upgraded version in 2009 for the final evolution called Scuderia GT3.
