This weekend sees the 68th Belgian Grandprix, once again held in Spa Francorchamps. From 1972 to 1982 and in 1984 the Grand Prix was either held at the Zolder- or Nivelles-Racetrack. In 1952 the GP was designated Grand Prix of Europe.
141 drivers participated in the Belgian races for the Scuderia with 118 starters in Spa. 40 different Formula-cars have been entered over the years. The Scuderia achieved only 11 pole positions and 13 victories since 1949. Alberto Ascari was the first driver of the Scuderia to win the Belgian Grand Prix in 1952. He repeated this victory in 1953. Ascari was the only driver except of Kimi Räikkönen to win the Belgian Grand Prix more than one time. Michael Schumacher topped this by winning the race in his “living room” four times! Schumi achieved the wins in 1996 and 1997 as well as in 2001 and 2002. He was the only driver of the Scuderia to finish first after starting from pole position. He did it for three times of his four victories.
Räikkönen and Massa took all wins at Spa from 2007 to 2009.
