Hardly finished Monterey, RM/Sotheby's brings us the icon of icons: a real 250 GTO, where, 3765LM only looks like a GTO but is in fact a 330 LM, powered by a 4 liter Testa Rossa engine. The last GTO was reported to be the world's second most expensive car sold at US$70 million, about half what the world's most expensive car cost, the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut, but maybe Sotheby's marquee sales of Modern and Contemporary Art on November 13 in New York an opportunity to approach the Mercedes prize.
