Bonhams' stock included six Ferraris and -once again- a FIAT-service van that belonged to Garage Francorchamps. Estimated to be hammered around 9,000 to 14,000 € it achieved an amazing sales price of 23,000 €! However, three of the Ferraris did not sell, amongst them a Dino.
The biggest surprise at Artcurial is the amazing prize paid for the Testarossa that was owned by Alain Delon. Including the premium, the car achieved 171,000€! The comparable Testarossa offered in the same auction achieved a fair market value of 42,889 €.
From the pictures on the internet, 250 GT PF Cabriolet #3499GT looked better than in reality. However, it did obviously sell well at 846,012€.
I still wonder, what makes #60799 -as advertised- a pre-series 328 as the official first car is #58735. It did not help #60799 to achieve more than 41,698€. By the way, the car was for sale on the web straight ahead of the auction with an asking price of 35.000€.
One Dino, #01164, at Bonhams did not sell. This was probably related either to the unspectacular history of the car or to the modifications (bumpers removed, aftermarket headlight covers added). The GTS at Artcurial achieved 262,099€ what represents about 350,000$, a price that is comparable to values achieved in the US recently. The Dino Berlinetta at Bonhams that was owned by Jaques Swaters after he had purchased it from the first owner he sold it to when new, achieved a huge price for a GTB of 247,250€.
