The Dutch faible for historic cars and sports cars are well known. They are the first to start the European Season in Maastricht and in June or July it relgulary Italia a Zandvoort, the big meeting of Italian sportscars at the Dutch shore. It has been a three day event up to the early years of the Millenium, pausing for a few years, what some people connect with the business trouble of the main Ferrari dealer, Kroymans, who was obviously an anchor partner for years, but it returned, even if it is reduced on a one day event now.
However, the shores are always worth a visit and this year will not be different. After the very bad weather event of 2012, we are at least expecting dry conditions, even if the expected temperatures do not guarantee a sunburn this year again.
To be fair, the cars of the Dutch Ferrari community belong to the best documented and the number of real new cars -regardless if classic or modern- to be spotted is low, but the Dutch do have gems and they show it impassioned and we join them.
It's a chance to take a day off. We will do so and enjoy the Saturday at Noordwijk an Zee in the neighbourhood of Zandvoort before going there on Sunday. It a kind of a temporary holiday. As the seaside resorts of Noordwijk and Zandvoort are prepared for "touristic invasions", we will have wonderful fresh Maties, time to shop and lounging in one of the many restaurants later that Saturday evening. See you there?
