After finishing the spotter's job at MM 2013, Michael and Berthold, our two friends of the Ferrari Model Club, stay in Italy spending a holiday. As you may estimate, a spotter's work is a welcome part of this as well.
On Saturday the folks visited the museums in Maranello (Museo Ferrari, the ex-Galleria) and Modena (Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari). Both venues are highly recommended to everybody going to the Prancing Horses birth place.
Museo Casa Enzo Ferrari is running a Formula 1-exhibition. As the Museo is not focused on Ferrari alone, the five Ferrari-exhibits are joined by Alfas, McLarens, Mercedes and Tecnos.
Museo Ferrari is currently running an exhibition called "Ferrari Supercar – Tecnica, Design, Mito“ and it will make you breathless!
I will share one or another picture from Michael over the next days with small stories about the exhibits attached.
Our subscribers know from looking up Enzos in F-Register’s database as well as the readers of “The Chronicle” know from our report about the Enzo’s anniversary that one of the prototypes is well known being constructed on a 348 wearing F140*M3*90865 – we will feature this car’s history again over the next weeks. What a surprise it was when Michael came up with a picture of F140*M1*95451, a second Enzo prototype, again obviously created on a 348! The common knowledge of the community has it that #95451 was advertised being a 348 Spider in Rosso Corsa/Beige in a FCA News Bulletin in 2006!
We are used to pose questions when it comes to Ferraris and Serial Numbers, here are those about #95451:
Was the FCA advert a typo or is #95451 a serial number of multiple use? In 2006 all Enzos have been completed and sold. It would be strange, if #95451 would have been a Spider in 2006 when the chassis was used for an Enzo prototype.
If you look at the red one’s serial number that includes “M3” and compare it to #95451’s S/N that includes “M1” – would it be wrong to assume, that there is “M2” in existence as well?
However, enjoy Michael’s picture of #95451 that is shown in our “Picture Box” and you probably may occasionally visit FMC’s website at www.ferrarimodelclub.de, it’s worth it!
