On one hand the track is not "speed driven" so that the deficits of the Scuderia should become less visible than in the prevrious races, on the other hand, the Factory reacted by providing two new chassis for the upcoming GP, #302 (Alonso) and #303 (Räikkönen) that should come with some -probably minor- updates compared to #304 and #305. We already expected at least #305 to be replaced as Alonso cancelled the Bahrain test last week earlier because of a damage to #305's chassis.
However, beside missing speed, the wet qualifying from Shanghai showed that a lack in tractive control is the next issue, even if only appearing when wet. Alonso was 1st and 2nd in the free practice sessions yesterday what tempted us to be optimistic for today.
Alonso will be fifth on the grid tomorrow, whilst Räikkönen is playing Massa's previous role more and more and missed Q3 with p11 on the grid.
