The 77th 250 GT LWB Tour de France
1401GT was completed on May 23rd, 1959 and sold new to Italian Luigi Taramazzo who entered it in Garessio-Colle San Bernardo hillclimb (a victory), the Trieste-Opicina hillclimb and the Monza Lottery GP before selling it the same year to Switzerland to Gérard Spinedi who entered it in several races amongst which he won the Geneve Rally in 1960. The car was in a gold livery and registered on Swiss plates GE 34675.

In 1970 is went to Rob de la Rive Box who sold it to K. Hasler of Wettswil who sold it again to long time owner, Plinio Haas of Arborn. In 1996, 1401GT's engine was installed in Paul Schouwenburg's 250 TR Replica using the identity of 0720 TR, the engine installed in 1401GT is stamped 1401GT but it is not the correct one.

Plinio Haas raced the car into various Historic Races ever since at least until the 2012 Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring.

Best remembered appearance was the crash, when Haas optimistically was overtaking sister TdF #1139GT and both cars were damaged, #1139GT has just returned from a full restoration.

At this year's Techno Classica, 1401GT was offered for sale by Mirbach.
