Our Chief Editor, Matthias Urban, recalls the first event he travelled to and it was, as is expected, in the Netherlands at Zandvoort. A bizarre auction in a barn Maarsbergen in 2001, Maastricht's Topmobiel, Italia a Zandvoort, the Louwman-Museum and the dominating Dutch language at any European event are an impressive proof of the Dutchs special relationship to cars.
You may miss one event on our list. Held annually from 1999 to 2006 and every two years from 2006 on, 2016 will see the 12th International Concours d'Elegance Palace Het Loo.
Het Loo is a castle near Apeldoorn that was built from 1685 to 1692 as a royal castle for William III and the royal family uses it as their summer residence until 1975.
Today the Palais Het Loo hosts a museum of the royal house and Palais Het Loo is well known for its magnificent park where - how could it be otherwise - the concours will be held on the first weekend of July as you can see from our Event Calendar.
2014 saw the great gathering of 250 GTE and its successor and 2016 will be special again, especially for Matthias Urban. Many of you may know that Matthias is in charge for the famous Dino Register of Denny Schue as well and this time the Concours d'Elegance Palace Het Loo will honour the "little Dino" with Dino-guru Matthias Bartz being among the judges of the concours.
Mark July 2nd and 3rd in your schedule already - the 12th International Concours d'Elegance awaits you!
