Just in time before the year of the 30th Challenge Anniversary ends, the Factory introduced a 458 Italia Challenge Evoluzione during the Finali Mondiali at Mugello. The “original” Challenge car was unveiled during the Bologna Motorshow held from December, 2nd to December 12th 2010.
As usual the engine stayed untouched with 563 hp, but the Factory used many lightweight parts to reduce weight to 1,220 kgs compared to 1,380 kgs of the street legal Italia. The Fiorano lap time was 1.6 seconds faster (1’.16.5sec.) compared to the 430 Challenge (1’.18.1 sec.). The new Challenge car had a Vmax of 310 km/h. The car was fitted with the dual clutch F1 Trac gearbox with the new introduced Dynamic Vehicle Control Systems, a new exhaust system, the second generation Carbon Ceramic Brakes, an evolved data acquisition system that derived from the 599 XX and new TFT display and a new steering wheel with integrated controls.
#193660 is one of the already shown Evoluzione cars and the most obvious detail on the car is a big rear wing like already seen on the GT2 and GT3 cars.
