Step into the 70s

  • Step into the 70s

The most exciting thing this month is actually that we are updating the database for the 70th time. Everything else is so unspectacular: 1,627 new, supplemented and corrected -as always, very, very few- entries in the database and the statement that we are cheerfully approaching serial number 295000, if it was not already built in the factory.

127690 was the car officially entitled to be the 100,000th Ferrari - which we doubt a bit because up to #75000 the even numbers were –traditionally - not numbered as street cars, i.e. 37,499 unused serial numbers, meaning 127690 would be something like that 90.200th car - but, that's bean counting and we could still agonize over the "assembly number" as the "true serial number", one day not so distant the database will be complete and then we'll know for sure.

So, off to the 70s for the next 10 months, about which there would be so much to tell, but that would be off topic, except that Ferrari of course built some of the most beautiful cars at the time and the Dino is "to blame" for the fact that there is F-Register today.

Enjoy the sunny days ahead!

Yours

F-Register Team
