We easily could join in the discussion how sensible it is to bring the show of glamour and money to an area that is still looking for its proper result from the Arab Spring. We won’t, not because we do not want to make a political statement, but because others do this in a range that assures awareness and F-Register is seen as a website for car-related data. However, we would appreciate an ideal world with happy humans only, but it might be the humans playing the role of a system error in this case.
Beside the political irritation most other things are different as well in Bahrain. A race in the desert in –weather-wise- unprotected terrain, a winner, who receives a mix of rose water and pomegranate juice instead of the champagne and tons of sand, many of them are roving around the track.
2004 saw the first Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix what became an ideal crop of points for the Scuderia. Schumacher (#234) was the first winner with Rubinio (#236) coming in second. It was not before the 2007 race that a Ferrari driver managed to win again, this time it was Felipe Massa (#260) with team mate Kimi Räikkönen on #261 finishing on p3. Massa was able to repeat this victory the next year with #267. Kimi improved and achieved a second position using #268. The last Sucderia’s desert victory relates from the 2010 season, when Alonso took the win on #283 and the race at the Bahrain International Circuit was the season’s starter.
