Why do we say: Go there? After the reports of last week's Rétro in Paris and the Essen Motor Show during the last lockdown break, we were... well, shall we say, more than skeptical about what to expect and it turned out fantastic.
We can't tell you exactly how many cars were there and who we missed in terms of dealers and exhibitors, but - to be honest - it wasn't that great at all. The quantity and quality of the Ferraris were the same as in the best of times - historical highlights were set in abundance. And, apparently, the 'corona control concept' of the fair is working. The uncomfortable narrowness caused by interested crowds was not there. We don't want to say we're warning alone, but it was refreshingly relaxed, so: go there!
The mood? When it came to the cars and life itself, it was wonderful, but rarely has an event like the war of aggression in Ukraine taken up so much space, and so many people you know have been personally involved through some sort of connection. It's a small world after all and we seem unable to inhabit it peacefully. So was it a coincidence that the Gallery Hummen exhibited Fangio's Maserati 4CLT #1600? A beacon against the war and unashamed, beneficial sympathy for the people of Ukraine.
As you pass Hall 6, don't forget to stop by the Motorart artist, who has captured an 812 on paper - in blue and yellow! The proceeds will be donated. A small but huge gesture!
So go there! You still have time, take it!
