We don't usually comment on the newly presented vehicles of our favourite Factory, but with the new F80 we realize how much we have missed Pininfarina’s elegance in the designs for some time. It looks as if they have taken what was there off the shelf, a lot of the SF90 XX, the front band from the 12 cylinders and again cuts, holes and air intakes everywhere - apparently gone are the great ideas for aerodynamics like in the second half of the 1990s. Now it really looks as if they want to make it particularly easy for the Danish manufacturer of interlocking bricks to get the current model into the Lego stores this time. On the other hand, given the economic situation of the global automotive industry, we are proud and happy that there are still manufacturers that occupy this crazy segment, although of course the competition is present here too and with AMG and McLaren offering alternatives and we are excited to see how the F80 will perform in comparison.
What October left us
2,105 records were touched, of which 1,553 are new entries. Exciting findings? Of course, the F250 has been given its official name and the names of all pre-production models in F-Register have been adjusted. The successors to the Roma, SF90 and the Speciale version of the 296 have already been spotted in small numbers. The Daytona is within the last 10% of total production, but the SF90 Spider is still being built - we counted 4,127 units as of the end of October. It is also exciting because the supply of SF90 Stradales on the used car market increased significantly in October - as we have also noticed in the market as a whole. We have not yet been able to conclusively determine whether this is putting pressure on prices. We will keep an eye on that.
It is interesting that the "new" models of the month actually include an SF90 Stradale, 14,700 numbers after the last known model built. But it gets even more exciting: 58,928 after the car with the highest serial number to date, three GTC4s actually appear, all 12 cylinder versions.
Is the next Newsletter version still your Newsletter?
On a personal note... We have been sending out the "Newsletter" medium for a few months now and have found that a large number of recipients do not open it - which is not technically necessary, but leads us to suspect that not every recipient reads the Newsletter.
In November, we will therefore clean up our address list of all recipients who do not open the mailing. Don't worry, the Newsletter will not be lost, we will provide a constant link on the website with which the "unsubscribed" person can subscribe again, just like anyone else who is interested. And, the Newsletter also appears as usual in our "Chronicle" and on the landing page. For all regular readers of the Newsletter, nothing will change in terms of delivery.
So, 60 days to go until the end of the year and predicting that 2024 will be another record year in production is not very bold. The question is how big 20,000 plus X will be.
