Luca di Montezemolo to leave Ferrari after 23 years
66 year old Luca di Montezemolo will quit his position as chairman of Ferrari on Oct., 13th, the final day of the 60th anniversary of Ferrari of America. He will be succeeded by the head of FIAT, Sergio Marchionne.

A complete era of Ferrari-production is nicknamed after di Montezemolo, starting with the F355 Series. It was obvious the last days that different views of Marchionne and di Montezemolo were not longer repairable.

Consequences for Ferrari are more or less unclear. Marchionne is widely known as somebody who is able to reorganize companies, what is, and that's a fact, not neccessary with Ferrari. If not being successful on the race tracks of the Formula 1 Series is a valid reason to change the lead in a prosperous company may be a doubtful one.

However, we all thank Luca di Montezemolo for everything he provided to Ferrari and all Ferraristi with our deepest respect.
