To celebrate its anniversaries, Cornes offers cars to its customers that are small-series production cars and usually all comes equipped alike. For their 15th business anniversary in 1993 Cornes chose the 512 TR and a lot of 15 cars are said to have been sold to Cornes’ customers.
The 512 TR shows a total production of 2,280 units from 1991 to 1994. It was the successor of the Testarossa and the predecessor of the final evolution, the F512 M. Compared to the Testarossa the most obvious detail to indentify the TR was the smaller front grill that was similar to the 348 and F355 compared to the front wide grill of the Testarossa. The engine produced an additional 38 hp compared to the Testarossa, had a little less width and a little more height compared to its predecessor. The MSRP was US$ 212,160 in 1992. They are traded around US$ 75,000 currently.
Cornes’ birthday surprise came in elegant Rosso Monza, a deep red metallic shade with a Beige interior. All 15 cars are Japanese models with the VIN ZFFLA40JPN00xxxxx. A big chrome plate on the door sill protector of the driver’s side that reads “512 TR Speciale Ferrari-Cornes 15th Anniversary” and includes the VIN below as well as the limited production number. The majority of the cars has been identified by Serial Number, some of them by their limited production number as well.
