We have just been told that we are going to experience the third hottest summer since records began, at least here in Germany. But they must have meticulously counted all the places in the whole country where 25° was reached.
We can tell you that here - and that is in the area where the general weather situation also influences some of the most beautiful race tracks (Spa, Nürburgring, Zandvoort, Zolder) this summer was a noticeably unremarkable average Central European summer - so, nothing like 71 days of sunshine and 25° on maybe 10 days.
But, long story short, the time has come! Finally, summer and it will last a long time - so they say, so they predict, and we have been suffering long enough not to hope.
That is a good thing, because we want to visit an old friend. A long love that celebrated its 50th birthday last year and invites us all to celebrate number 51 with it.
The 51st Belmot Oldtimer Grand Prix will take place from 9 to 11 August! As always, of course, at the Nürburgring, as always, of course, with lots of racing action and many club displays - well, actually, just like always. And that's a reason to mark the date in red and spend the second weekend in August in the Eifel. We'll be there.
Tickets are easiest to get on the website. The weekend costs €89, Friday €35, Sunday €39, only Saturday is more expensive at €69. As always, kids under 17 can enjoy it for free with proof of age and when accompanied by an adult ticket holder. What a great opportunity to infect the next generation with motorsport and classic cars.
