Ferrari wise the event has always been a blind spot for the Factory's marketing efforts. This year, it appears that official dealer Lueg will be one of the sponsors. However, we know what they are currently defining as being historic - we just would say "Youngtimer", even the expected car may have reached its registration being rated as a Historic Car already.
Another snag will the parallel evolution of an event called Schloss Dyck Masterpieces that already took place a month ago. It was an owner-driven decision to display remarkable cars in a more private environment than showing it to the thousands of spectators instead. The organizers of the Classic Days will carefully have to watch not to impose a two-tier system. Events like Goodwood, the Zoute Grand Prix or Chantilly are not too far away for the real fans of historic cars on display.
However, let's enjoy the anticipation for this weekend. The great Arturo Merzario shall be at the scene, driving one of the Sharknose-replicas. 0002R, 0004R and 0006R have been present in Goodwood this year.
Tomorrow, we will provide you with the lots of Coys' accompaning auction.
